Gotthard Schuh. Eine sinnliche Sicht der Welt
The director follows the tracks left by the photos of Gotthard Schuh ranging from the Ticino region of Malcantone – which the photographer has immortalised back and forth on his Lambretta – as far as Indonesia, islands of the Gods, which have made him famous. With the photos in his hand, the filmmaker travels to and revisits the places and people photographed by Schuh. The contrasts that are even more visible today than yesterday enable the spectator to discover above all the little-known and quasi ethnographic photos taken by the artist in Ticino as well as those from far-away and exotic Bali. All this is accompanied by reflections written down by the photographer in his notebooks.
