DUTTI DER RIESE by Martin Witz

Swiss Migros supermarket chain founder Gottlieb Duttweiler was a man of great character: by disposition a democrat, but a dictator by temperament. Both a visionary and a coolly calculating realist, he was a wartime profiteer in his younger years, before becoming a humanist. Duttweiler was a multifaceted egomaniac, social politician, patriot and European, thoroughbred businessman, loving husband, gambler – and towards the end of his life – a great skeptic for whom life was one great adventure.
