Influenced by Surrealism and Dada, Fischer’s hallucinatory world is anartistic counterpart to nonsense – joyous and dark, simple and complex, spectacular and austere : Fischer’s own carefully choreographed theater of the absurd.
Iwan Schumacher
Born in 1947 in Lucerne. Studies photography at Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich. 1967 Participates in first filmmaking course in Switzerland. Works as photographer for the Schweizer Illustrierte, DU and Weltwoche. 1970-72 Teachor of photography at the Bath Academy of Art, England. Since 1972 cameraman, assistant director, scriptwriter and director. 1977-81 Member of Nemo Film AG. 2000 Co-founder of Schumacher & Frey GmbH. Lives in Zurich.
