Opération Shakespeare à la Vallée de Joux
Anne Cuneo
The Compagnie du Clédar, in an effort to make Shakespeare better known, commissions a play all about the great dramatist and out of nowhere creates an Elizabethan theatre. An entire valley throws itself into the project to finance and build the theatre modelled to a great extent on Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, reinterpreted for a different climate. The commitment is just as great when it comes to staging the play, which for a period of six weeks packs the house full to the brim.
Anne Cuneo
Born in Paris, France. Studied arts in Lausanne. Trained as publicity adviser and journalist. Theater production. Author of literary books and documentaries, including a book on Swiss cinema. Since 1973 works as assistant, scriptwriter, film director and journalist at French Swiss Broadcasting Service (TSR) and at German Swiss Broadcasting Service (SF). At the same time has written plays or screenplays for the theater, radio, television and cinema, and has directed in various Swiss theaters and abroad as guest director.
